Members of the steering committee behind a proposed Champaign charter school struggled to answer dozens of questions from Unit 4 school board officials during a public hearing Monday night.

The incident Wednesday afternoon is Champaign's second report of a shooting near a school in a week.  Each prompted 'soft' lockdowns at schools in the city.  20-year old Terrell Boatman faces weapons charges.
