Thursday night September 8 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a “Deutsche Welle Festival Concert”. You’ll hear Beethoven’s “6th Symphony”, the Pastoral, performed by the Basel Chamber Orchestra. Also on the program Beethoven’s two “Romances for Violin and Orchestra” with soloist Carolin Widmann.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Carolin Widmann is the soloist in Kurt Weill’s “Violin Concerto”. Esa-Pekka Salonen conducts.  Also on the program Hindemith’s “Rag Time” and his Symphony “Mathis der Maler”.

Alan GIlbert traveled to Hamburg to conduct the NDR-Elbphilharmonie Orchestra for this concert from Beethovenfest.

Carolin Widmann is the soloist with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra.
