The wait 'til next year is finally over. The Chicago Cubs are World Series champions. Ending more than a century of flops, futility and frustration, the Cubs won their first title since 1908, outlasting the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in 10 innings of a Game 7 thriller early Thursday. "It happened. It happened. Chicago, it happened," first baseman Anthony Rizzo said. "We did it. We're world champions. I tell ya, we're world champions. I can't believe it."

Jake Arrieta took a no-hitter into the 6th inning, and Kyle Schwarber went 2-for-4 in his second game back with the Cubs in Wednesday's 5-1 victory in Cleveland. It was the Cubs' first World Series victory since game 6 of the 1945 World Series againt Detroit. The series now heads to Wrigley Field for game 3 on Friday night.

Former major league outfielder Doug Glanville, who broke in with the Cubs in 1996, was also a member of the 2003 team that fell just short of going to the World Series.  But today, he's best known as an analyst for ESPN and writer for the New York Times and Newsweek.  He spoke with Jeff Bossert about the 2015 Cubs.
