The ballet "Petrushka" was written in 1910-11, and revised in 1947; "Bolero" was written in 1928, originally for a ballet.
Filling in last minute would seem to put an artist in the 'waiting-in-the-wings' category, which is hardly the case for pianist Perianes....the scheduled soloist walked out during rehearsal and didn't return!
