Meat and dairy are piling up across the U.S. It has cold storage places packed to the rafters, and the federal government, which subsidizes the agriculture industry, looking for ways to alleviate the problem, at least in the short-term.

University of Illinois President Timothy Killeen spent nearly two hours gathering input in the second of three town hall meetings for a university-wide strategic plan, hearing comments on areas ranging from race to college affordability.  He calls it a 'pivotal' time for the school, calling for a 'resolutely student-centered approach' in areas like research and civil engagement. 

Organizers say they aren’t making demands of the school. Rather, they wanted black students to come together and realize their own strength on the U of I campus.
