Gov. Bruce Rauner is appealing the federal government's decision to deny funding to help Illinois residents, businesses and local governments pay for damage caused by December and January floods. Counties impacted by the flooding in December and January include Vermilion and Moultrie.

Governor Bruce Rauner visited the Iroquois County seat of Watseka Tuesday morning, where about 50 had to leave their homes last week.  Mayor Bob Harwood says given all the severe flooding problems in Southern Illinois, he feels good about the state's chances of a federal declaration. The bulk of damage in Vermilion County was to rural roads, and a sanitary sewer line in Danville.

Shiloh Agronomics claims Shelby County Community Services should not be entitled to a marijuana cultivation permit due to its federal tax-exempt status.
