How climate research shapes weather warnings at home and abroad

The Trump administration says it is reviewing billions of dollars in federal funding for 14 states for everything from social services to environmental programs. In Colorado, the administration is doubling down on plans to dismantle the country's largest federal climate research lab.
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign graduate student Maddie Stover, and Meteorologist with Nutrient Ag Solutions Andrew Pritchard talked about the impact of Trump Administration’s proposed cuts to federal climate research funding and how it has targeted the National Center for Atmospheric Research, which aims to improve weather forecasting, safety, agriculture and disaster preparedness. The conversation also touches on the United Nation’s efforts to improve weather warnings globally including Cambodia's early flood warnings which has reduced deaths.
