University of Illinois President Tim Killeen talks geophysics career, current state of climate science and retirement

President of the University of Illinois System Tim Killeen will be retiring in 2027 after 12 years of working for the university. Killeen is a lead researcher in geophysics and space sciences and has served as a principal investigator on research projects funded by NASA and the National Science Foundation. He was also the director of the National Center for Atmospheric Research. He took office at the University of Illinois in 2015.
