While so much attention is focused on corruption at the federal level, it may actually be more prevalent in the United States at the state and local levels.  We talked with an Illinois State professor about his findings on the matter. And, it’s been about a decade since Illinois and most of the U.S. adopted ambitious new standards for public schools, known as Common Core. The goal was to prevent kids from falling behind, but some say it hasn’t leveled the playing field.

 We also revisited our conversation about a condition that temporarily erased one Galesburg man’s memory for a day – with no lasting physical or mental effects.
