House District Elections Across Illinois: 16th, 13th, 12th And 3rd
We’ve talked on the show before about this year’s statewide campaigns like the governor and attorney general’s race. But, nationally, the big question is who will have control of Congress after the dust settles on election day. In case you need a civics refresher, representatives in the House serve terms that last two years. That means that nearly every district in the country is holding an election this fall. On The 21st, we spent some time getting listeners up to speed on a few of those campaigns here in Illinois.
We heard from four reporters about four different districts. WNIJ's Sue Stephens filled us in on the 16th district, currently represented by Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger, WGLT's Ryan Denham talked with us about the 13th district, currently represented by Republican Rep. Rodney Davis, WSIU's Brad Palmer helped us understand the 12th district, currently represented by Republican Rep. Mike Bost, and Carol Felsenthal laid out what's at stake in the 3rd district, represented by Democratic Rep. Dan Lipinski.
