It’s been almost a month since recreational cannabis became legal here in Illinois. And for months now, law enforcement has been preparing for those challenges as well as some of the other nuances that exist in the new law.
It’s been almost a month since recreational cannabis became legal here in Illinois. Last week during our State of Cannabis coverage, we touched on some of the biggest challenges that Illinois has faced during this transition, including product shortages, the persistence black market cannabis sales, issues navigating the expungement process for prior cannabis offenses.
For months now, law enforcement has been preparing for those challenges as well as some of the other nuances that exist in the new law.
Illinois State Police Director Brendan Kelly joined us to talk about how these agencies are faring.
