For the next part of our show, we’re going to go back to the 1990s. This was supposed to be a moment of American triumph. But it became a time of conspiracy theories, anger about politics and racist candidates becoming more mainstream than they’d been in a couple of decades.

This era is the subject of a new book called “When the Clock Broke: Con Men Conspiracists, and How America Cracked Up in the Early 1990s.”

The author joins us to talk about his book and some current events.
