The Real Work: On the Myster of Mastery is — by the author's own description — “a self-help book that won’t help.” The publisher advises booksellers to put it not in the self-help section, but in psychology section, where it shares space with titles about overcoming anxiety and managing one’s ADD.

To talk about what that means, how he thinks about the concept of mastery and more, The 21st Show was joined by the book's author, Adam Gopnik.
