After realizing that Bollywood stories and romance novels have more in common than meets the eye, Sonali Dev decided to try her hand at writing a romance novel in 2010. She's now published her 10th book, The Vibrant Years, under actress and comedian Mindy Kaling's imprint with Amazon.
She joined The 21st to discuss her literary endeavors, the obstacles she's encountered in the largely white world of publishing, balancing work with familial expectations, and more.
