Back To School Mental Health Check In

If you or someone you know may be struggling with mental health, contact the Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 741741 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 (En Español: 1-888-628-9454; Deaf and Hard of Hearing: 1-800-799-4889).

After spending a lot of time on Zoom and being forced to juggle hybrid learning, many kids are heading back to school with lingering questions and lasting mental health challenges. We’ve heard the struggles of parents, educators and after school providers, but how are our children and teens doing? To talk about it, the 21st was joined by a professor of clinical psychology, the executive director of the Center for Childhood Resilience, and a Rockford school psychologist.

GUESTS:

Dr. Cynthia Lubin Langtiw

Professor in the Department of Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology

Dr. Colleen Concetti

Executive Director of the Center for Childhood Resilience (CCR), and a Clinical Psychologist at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago

Dr. Jyoti Kolodziej

Rockford School Psychologist, Regional Director for Region 2 for the Illinois School Psychologists Association
