Big Ten To Play Football

Vashoune Russell for Illinois Public Media

On the morning of September 16, 2020, The Big Ten College Athletic Conference announced it would resume playing football the weekend of October 24. The Big Ten is based in Rosement, in the Chicago suburbs — and its Illinois-based teams include Northwestern and the University of Illinois. Football was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic and health concerns. Many sports in the spring were also canceled.

The 21st spoke to Brian Moline, Morning Edition host and Managing Editor of WILL's Illinois Newsroom about more details on the plan.
