On April 6, 2022, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the home station of our show, Illinois Public Media. On the night of April 6, 1922, the University of Illinois brought WILL-AM (then WRM) to life.

We talked with two WILL alums. Niala Boodhoo was the inaugural host and executive producer of The 21st. She is now the host and editor of Axios Today. You may also hear her on 1A from time to time.

Jeremy Hobson grew up in Champaign-Urbana. He first became associated with WILL in elementary school when he interviewed writer Dave Barry for the "Treehouse Radio" program! He was also an intern and reporter at WILL while attending the University of Illinois. You may also know Jeremy as a former host of public radio’s "Marketplace" and "Here and Now." He also recently guest-hosted the show "Left, Right, and Center."
