Civic education is an essential part of Democracy. Teacher and writer Lindsey Cormack argues schools are not up to the task, which means parents have to take matters into their own hands. From difficult conversations about topics like political violence to how government works to voting, she says these are all things children should learn from the home.
Cormack adresses this in her book, “How to Raise a Citizen". She will be at several events this week at the University of Illinois-Springfield.
