Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, we’ve been checking in with small businesses here in Illinois. Restaurants and retail have been hard hit — with thousands of businesses closing permanently around the state since March. Many that will not reopen. Nationally, more than 130,000 businesses have shut their doors.
