The Illinois Legislative Inspector General's role is designed to investigate alleged wrongdoings by lawmakers and their staffers, and help keep things ethical in Illinois politics. 

The 21st spoke to Illinois Legislative Inspector General Carol Pope about why she resigned from her position and called her own position “essentially a paper tiger."
