Oksana Masters’ journey from hardship to Paralympic triumph
The 2024 Paralympics are underway in Paris. Multi-sport Paralympian, Oksana Masters, was born in Ukraine in 1989.
The time and location are significant as it was three years after the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster. Despite setbacks throughout her childhood, Oksana has gone on to have a stellar athletic career.
Today, Masters joins us to talk more about her childhood, her life in Ukraine, and how she decided what sports to compete in and who inspires her. Lastly, she'll tell us more about the book she published about her life called "The Hard Parts: A Memoir of Courage and Triumph."
