Encore: Instead of Canceling Weddings, Couples Turn to Technology to Tie the Knot

The coronavirus pandemic has affected many aspects of love and relationships, including the institution of weddings.

With much of the country under various levels of quarantine, the large gatherings and travel that accompanies most ceremonies has become impossible.

But instead of postponing their weddings, many couples have gotten creative with technology by tying the knot via video stream.

After realizing the wedding they'd planned in California wasn't going to happen, Rob Roberge and Gina Frangello got married over Zoom, (virtually) welcoming nearly 80 of their friends into their home in Chicago.

“There were about four different screens of them," Frangello said. "It was like an exponential Brady Bunch screen,” Roberge added.
