Growing Teacher Shortage In Illinois

The Illinois Education Association recently released its annual State of Education report. According to the report, teacher retirements increased by 67% in August 2020 compared to the year before. Additionally, 1 in 3 teachers polled by IEA last year said they were considering leaving the profession. The 21st was joined by the IEA president to talk more about how to mitigate this issue and what teachers have learned about teaching during a pandemic.
