The 21st Show

Author Interview: Tyler Kelley, “Holding Back the River”

About $220 billion dollars in commerce travels through our waterways annually — including 60% of farm exports. Two thirds of America’s drinking water comes from rivers and streams, but our infrastructure is deteriorating. Rising waters of climate change are only exacerbating the strain on our waterways, compromising our ability to harness the river.

The 21st was joined by the author of Holding Back the River: The Struggle Against Nature on America's Waterways to talk about the most critical stretch of water in the nation and the issues facing it.

Guest:

Tyler J. Kelley, Journalist and author of the recently released book Holding Back the River: The Struggle Against Nature on America's Waterways
