U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (Republican) and Democratic challenger Betsy Dirksen Londrigan debated for the first time this election cycle on Monday night in Champaign. They’re in a competitive race for the 13th district, which covers a large portion of our listening area — from Champaign-Urbana up to Bloomington-Normal then down through Decatur and Springfield and southwest to Alton and the Mississippi River. This is the second time the two candidates have faced off in an election — and it was incredibly close in 2018. Republican Rodney Davis won by just a percentage point and the race is drawing national attention once again from both parties.
The 21st was joined by two panelists from last night’s debate to help recap.
