Illinois State Museum returns stolen items to Kenya

Museums foster education and connection across cultures. However the industry has come under scrutiny of how they collected cultural items. Many were stolen from foreign lands and later 'donated' to museums. We discussed repatriation, or the process of returning "borrowed" or “stolen” items, to their communities of origin, including Illinois State Museum returning sacred objects to Kenya.
