Illinois universities face uncertainty as Trump administration unveils new policies for higher education

During his re-election campaign, President Donald Trump made changing the structure of higher education a priority. The administration has framed many of its demands to universities as an effort to protect Jewish students in light of clashes and Pro-Palestine protests that took place last year on many campuses across the country. Opponents say that is an opportunistic cover for a plan that's really about silencing universities that do not share his agenda.
Regardless of the cause, billions of dollars in federal funding is at stake ... often for medical and scientific research. A panel of journalists who cover higher education join the program today to discuss how universities in Illinois could be impacted by potential funding cuts.
