Interview: Sen. Harmon And Rep. Durkin
Last Friday night, PBS viewers in central Illinois got to see us bring our radio show to television. It was a pilot episode for a program we’re calling The 21st at the Capitol. In the broadcast, I spoke with Illinois Senate President Don Harmon, a Democrat from Oak Park; and House Minority Leader Jim Durkin, a Republican from Western Springs.
We talked about Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s budget proposal — and other issues related to taxes and spending. Plus what to do with a potential windfall of billions in federal COVID relief, the state’s energy infrastructure, pensions, and the many definitions of what would make sure Illinois’ legislative district maps are “fair.”
Guests:
Illinois Senate President Don Harmon, (D) Oak Park
