On December 8, 2021, President Joe Biden signed an executive order to continue pushing the US toward cleaner and more sustainable energy and setting new goals for emissions. A day later, US Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm began a tour of Illinois. Today, she's visiting the University of Illinois’ Energy Farm in Champaign County, touring a community solar project in Kankakee County, and finally visiting the Braidwood Generating Station, a nuclear power plant, in Will County. The next day, she’ll join Governor JB Pritzker and Rep. Lauren Underwood (D-IL14) to tour Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia. She joined The 21st to talk about the executive order, the recently-passed infrastructure bill, electric vehicles, and more.
