Illinois State Board of Education Addresses Masks In The Classroom
After weeks of back-and-forth protests over whether students should be wearing masks, Governor JB Pritzker settled the question, requiring masks for students and teachers, K-12, in schools public and private. At least one private school in Illinois found out, the penalty for non-compliance is losing state certification. To talk about it, The 21st was joined by the director of Safe and Health Climate at the Illinois State Board of Education.
Editor's note: IBSE Commissioner Carmen Ayala was originally scheduled to appear on today's program but had to cancel. Her office offered Jeff Aranowski as a substitute guest for our program.
