It's been over a year since COVID-19 started impacting Americans on a large scale, and 365 days later, 23 thousand people in Illinois have lost their lives to the virus. For some patients though, the virus’ symptoms linger for months after an initial positive test — they’ve become known as long COVID patients or “long-haulers.” The 21st spoke to survivors of the coronavirus and how they have been handling the longterm effects.
