On-the-ground coverage of DNC protests
Thousands of protestors want to make their presence known and their voices heard at the 2024 DNC in Chicago.
Many are drawing the comparison of protestestors marching on the streets to the 1968 DNC, which was also held in Chicago. At that time, people were opposing the U.S.’s Vietnam War, while in 2024 it’s for the connection between the U.S. and Isreal, and the alleged genocide of Palestinians at the hands of the Israeli government.
A reporter who was on the scene Monday as the protests began near the United Center, the main site of the DNC, shares some details with the 21st on what he observed.
