More than two and a half years ago, on October 7, 2023, Hamas launched an attack on Israel. Around 1,200 hundred Israelis were killed that day. Hundreds more were taken to Gaza as hostages. In Israel’s response, more than 70,000 Palestinians have been killed and even six months after a ceasefire agreement, the war goes on.

It’s the latest chapter in a conflict that has lasted for decades. Palestinian Aziz Abu Sarah and Israeli Maoz Inon have written a new book called “The Future is Peace: A Shared Journey Across the Holy Land.” They connected after Inon's parents were killed in the October 7th attacks. Sarah also knows the pain and grief of this long conflict. Decades ago, his brother died after almost a year of captivity and torture by the Israeli government.

Inon and Sarah discuss why they choose peace over vengeance and how their losses motivate their advocacy.
