For years, Peoria’s south end has suffered from a lack of investment, and fleeing residents, but something strange started happening this summer. Buyers from all over America — some of whom had never even heard of Peoria — started buying up homes sight unseen. We spoke with a Washington Post reporter who has been looking at this story in Peoria and the leader of a citizens group in Peoria about why this started and what it means for the city.
