Photographer Lynsey Addario on Afghanistan
Lynsey Addario is a Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist whose striking images from nearly every theater of war in the 21st century tell the story of the people living in these conflict zones. A recipient of a MacArthur Foundation "Genius Grant," Addario was also named one of five most influential photographers of the past 25 years for changing the way we see world conflict by American Photo Magazine. She's also the bestselling author of the memoir "It's What I Do."
Addario will be giving a talk on Sunday Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. about her experience working in Afghanistan: what life was like, especially for women, during the Taliban's rule, how life changed for women in the 20 years she's been covering the country, and how Afghans are reacting now. Listeners interested in watching the talk can register to get the Zoom link here. You can view some of her work in this piece she wrote for The Atlantic.
