Tammy Duckworth has served as the US Senator from Illinois since 2017. Before serving in the Senate, she represented the 8th district of Illinois. In 2004, Duckworth was deployed to Iraq as a Blackhawk helicopter pilot for the Illinois Army National Guard. On November 12, 2004, her helicopter was hit by an RPG and she lost her legs and partial use of her right arm.

Senator Duckworth joined The 21st for a discussion on the accessability concerns during the capitol seige of January 6, the over-representation of military people in the capitol insurrection and the Senate beginning a second impeachment trial of now-former President Donald J. Trump.
