The 21st Show

The 21st—Thursday, June 18, 2020

Tomorrow is Juneteenth, a day commemorating the end of slavery in the US. We’ll talk about the history of Juneteenth and growing calls this year to make it a federal holiday.

With parts of life returning to some version of normal, even as the COVID-19 pandemic continues, it’s worth considering what we might want to keep from quarantine. Do you have a new hobby or a new habit? Give us a call later this hour.

And, we’ll hear from people in central Illinois who have been documenting their experiences during the pandemic over the course of several months for a PBS storytelling series.
