House Minority Leader Jim Durkin, the top Republican in state House of Representatives, says it’s time for lawmakers to get back to work in the state Capitol.

Then, despite the thousands of COVID-19 cases tied to meat processing plants across the country, President Trump has ordered them to remain open. Today, one of the largest meat processing plants in central Illinois is reporting more than 45 confirmed cases of the disease.

Finally, climate change is pushing America’s so-called “tornado alley” into parts of Illinois. We’ll talk to a researcher who says tornadoes here might become more frequent and more severe.
