The true origins of Monopoly, and the legacy it left behind
Many people believe Charles Darrow as the creator of Monopoly, but Mary Pilon, our guest today on The 21st, says that that isn't entirely true.
Elizabeth Magie, a woman from Macomb, is the one who created the Landlord's Game, which was essentially copied by Darrow, who then sold the rights of Monopoly to the Parker Brothers.
On the show, we'll expand more on the history and legacy of the game, digging deep into the players involved.
