Interview: Theresa Mah, Asian-American Caucus
State Rep. Theresa Mah grew up in San Francisco and came to Illinois in the 1990's to earn a Ph.D. in history at the University of Chicago. She then taught at Bowling Green State University in Ohio before coming back to Illinois and getting active in immigration issues and eventually Democratic politics. She currently represents the 2nd District in the Illinois House. It’s a diverse constituency — Latino, Asian and white — located in the heart of Chicago, just south of downtown.
