Interview: Tyehimba Jess, Pulitzer Prize winning Poet
Pulitzer Prize winning poet Tyehimba Jess has deep roots to Illinois. He’s a graduate of the University of Chicago, a two-time member of the Chicago Green Mill Slam team, he was Chicago’s Poetry Ambassador to Accra, Ghana, he taught for four years at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is now the poet in residence there. Tyehimba's work has won numerous awards including a Pulitzer Prize for his 2016 book of poetry Olio.
