University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign offers incentives amid overflow of students

Returning students who were planning to stay in on-campus housing at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign got an offer: cancel your contract, find somewhere else to live, and you'll get a $2,000 credit and 100 tickets for meals in campus dining halls. 

All indications are that the university has more students who want to — or have to — live on campus than it can accommodate. But how did we get here?

We're joined by a reporter who has been following the story and an assistant professor of higher education at Appalachian State University in North Carolina to learn more about the situation.
