More than a month ago, the Trump administration removed hundreds of migrants from the United States, accusing them of engaging in gang activity. They were sent to El Salvador by plane despite an order from a judge not to do just that.
One of the people sent there was Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran citizen whom the administration says was deported by mistake. Nevertheless, they now say there's nothing they can do to help Garcia. He and hundreds of other migrants to the U.S. are now locked up in El Salvador, without due process or any timeline for trial or release. Many of them are in the notorious CECOT prison, though Garcia has reportedly been transferred to a lower security facility.
A panel of immigration experts share their views on what's going on with the U.S. immigration policies three months into the Trump administration.
