Using Sewage To Track COVID-19
While deaths from COVID-19 have been trending downward in Illinois - public health experts say until a vaccine is developed the virus is likely to be part of our lives for a long time. And a key aspect of tracing the virus and preventing future outbreaks is through large scale testing.
Now, a team of researchers at Northwestern University is testing for the coronavirus by looking into Chicago’s sewers. The team has received a grant through the National Science Foundation for their research.
