Weekly Politics Roundtable - September 29, 2023

In our weekly roundup of government and politics affecting Illinois, we learn about the latest negotiations in Congress to avert a shutdown, with the Senate proposing a bipartisan bill, and Democratic senators, including Senators Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin of Illnois. Here in Illinois, we discuss how a partial government shutdown would affect millions, from government workers being let go, to many having to work unpaid, and how state agencies such as the Illinois Department of Revenue and Illinois Department of Human Services will be affected by a shutdown.
