Why a major distributor of books for libraries is shutting down

Libraries usually rely on suppliers to order books and one of the major businesses that’s handled that, Baker and Taylor, is shutting down in January.
The company has been in business for almost 200 years and its demise is leaving libraries to find other ways to get new books … often from other distributors that are facing significant surges in demand. How is this affecting the work of Illinois libraries? A journalist who wrote about the shutdown as well as an Illinois-based librarian give their take.
