As we close out what has been Earth’s hottest summer on record, a new law will soon require Illinois students to be taught about climate change. It goes into effect for the 2026 school year.

The bill was actually written and brought forward by a high school student from Naperville, Grace Brady. Brady joins the 21st today from Urbana, where she is now a first-year student at the University of Illinois. Brady and the state representative who sponsored this legislation share their thoughts on the importance of Climate Change being taught in schools.
