Democrats Trumpet Trump at IL State Fair

Earlier this week, when Republicans rallied at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield, it was as though they were on that classic game show "Password," where no one was allowed say the name of their party's presidential nominee. Thursday, however, Democrats took the opposite tack, saying the name again and again.

Gov. Rauner Signs ‘Gabby’s Law’ Requiring Sepsis Protocols At All Illinois Hospitals

Governor Bruce Rauner signed legislation Thursday requiring all Illinois hospitals to have protocols in place for diagnosing and treating sepsis, which occurs when infection causes the body's immune system to attack tissue and organs. The legislation was nicknamed "Gabby's Law", after a 5-year-old Monticello girl, who died of sepsis after hospital doctors did not check for the condition.

Champaign County Administrator Makes Case For Facilities Referendum

The Champaign County Board is expected to vote Thursday night on whether to place a referendum for facilities on the ballot for this November.  The initiative would raise the county’s sales tax one quarter of a percent for a period of 12 years.  Illinois Public Media's Brian Moline spoke with Champaign County Administrator Rick Snider about the proposal, including plans for the county jail.
