Labor Board Denies Rauner Request To Expedite Union Case

A state labor board has rejected Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner's request to bypass an administrative judge's recommendation and expedite proceedings in union negotiations. The decision means the case will continue as it has for months with the judge. Meanwhile, the AFSCME union is laying the groundwork for a strike, just it case it has to.

Nacco Named DACC’s Next President

Trustees at Danville Area Community College appointed Dr. Stephen Nacco as the school's 7th president Wednesday.  Currently part of the administration at Union County College in Cranford, New Jersey, Nacco will take over for the retiring Alice Marie Jacobs in late August.  He calls DACC 'an amazing asset in the community' with a 40-percent graduation rate, among the best in the U.S. for community colleges.
