Atomic Age Cocktail Party

Tiki Music (125)

Atomic Age logo with an illustration a man in an aloha shirt and shorts with a martini glass in one hand and an olive on a toothpick in the other. Text reads

This time on the program, we’re looking at Tiki Music. That general, catch-all term we now use that encompasses a wide swath of tropical-inspired music that includes exotica and Hawaiian music. It is music intended to take your mind to some imagined Polynesian paradise. And besides being a very popular genre in the late 1950s and early 1960s, it has also had a big resurgence here in the 21st century. We’ll hear from Webley Edwards, Robert Drasnin, The Tikiyaki Orchestra, and many more.
